Foster a Refugee Family
As we keep building meaningful relationships with residents at MRC’s accomodation site, we are finding there are further opportunities opening up to be “family to those without family” as they move into their own housing and loose the support of Government programs.
OUR TEAM: This is an emerging opportunity for us as a church to walk the journey with others from diverse backgrounds and play a role in helping them find their feet within Hobart. In a nutshell, connecting, serving others, and loving Gods people! Ideally there would be a few individuals or families supporting one refugee household.
WHO: People who have a heart for walking along side others. You also need to have been attending our church regularly for about a year.
WHEN & WHERE: There is no “where or when” for this, but rather a feeling of “taking a family under your wing”, with a heart to set the family/person up for success in our community, teaching sustainable skills and customs, and mostly just loving them!
